ABC Transporter

Contains St(r)epB (Part:BBa_K4590002) and St(r)epC (BBa_K4590003) together, they encode an ABC transporter, which will be used to export Cosmomycin to the extracellular environment. Membrane transporters are mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, as they decrease the concentration of these compounds inside the cell. By overexpressing the ABC transporter, we aim to increase the production of Cosmomycin, a secondary metabolite, through negative feedback (Arteaga et. al 2022).
